Pleasing modern lines set the Aquila 48 in a league of her own and moving around this boat is a breeze for people of all ages and abilities. Aft, a lifting platform provides excellent access to the ocean, dinghy and water toys.
Access to the flybridge from one of five convenient stairways - the interior salon, or the innovative forward and aft secure stairways. A large entertainment and dining area on the flybridge with barbeque with wet bar, and forward, an ergonomically designed steering console position with modern navigation equipment. On the main deck, outside shaded areas in the front and rear ensure leisurely relaxation on every level. Everywhere you look on board the Aquila 48, you will find quality without compromise.
We (three people) took over Lazyitis, a very good maintained and fitted charter boat with all you need for your Whitsunday holidays, coastal sailing and snorkeling. The technical and area briefing was perfect, And last but not least we got help from Terry in getting food and drinks from the local supermarket. But I have to mention one drawback: We had very unusual weather conditions with strong winds (a third reef in the main sail would have been good - but it had only two...) and therefor always little waves on good protected anchor grounds. And these little waves made a unnerving sound in the backside cabin. No way to sleep without earplugs. As you have nearly no marinas in the Whitsundays this is a real problem. Cumberland please check the backside underwater section - maybe this can be somehow improved. Thus we would not charter again Lazyitis (or any other Beneteau Oceanis 323 - to be sure) - but every other yacht of Cumberland Charter Yachts we would, and eventually will do!! As the Whitsunday Islands are great for sailing and (on normal wind condition) snorkeling we think we have to come back and do a more leisure style sail - with less rain, more sunshine and lower winds, but better snorkeling conditions.Gottfried - OBER-MöRLEN, GERMANY
