Blue Pearl Bay

Type Approved Anchorage.
Description A very popular anchorage for snorkelling, with an abundance of colourful coral and a great variety of fish.  A very popular site for organised dives.  The beach is shale so appropriate footwear is needed.
Restrictions No fishing.  Anchoring is not permitted.  Use only the public moorings.
Shelter in North East to South East.
Moorings Limited Public Moorings are available. No Anchor allowed if mooring buoys are full.
Fishing Fishing is prohibited at all times.
Be careful of Do not attempt to go through the Langford Reef area when going to Blue Pearl from Hook Island.  Use correct chart and 100 Magic Miles.  Lots of day boats who will leave the area about 3pm.
Snorkel Excellent snorkelling at the north and south end of this bay.
Sunset Watch the sunset over the distant mainland.
Sailing Sail to Airlie Beach or around the top and down to Whitehaven in favourable conditions.
Dive Blue Pearl is recognised as one of the better dive locations in the area.
Solitude After day boats depart.
