Testimonial

In Airlie the Cumberland Crew Are doing the best they can do To make sure you will feel That the Magic is real When Whitsundays Dreaming comes true “No Lin, you don’t have to stow those loose articles when we’re on the move, Destiny is a catamaran, a ‘stable table’, you can put a mug of coffee down in the cockpit whilst helming and yes, that’s single line reefing and even a Self Tacking Headsail - forget the winching!” Well wow! In that case Miss Destiny certainly is the girl we left home for. So here we go, can’t wait to set sail and explore more of the 100 Magic Miles of the Whitsundays. Just a quick scan through the dozens of enthusiastic accounts and happy pictures on the Cumberland website and it’s easy to see that this is a very special sort of holiday where everyone enjoys their own particular adventure in their own way. We are set free in a uniquely beautiful environment to go as we please, living the life of water gypsies, worlds away from the pressure of everyday life. Yet we have the security of knowing that the Cumberland Crew are keeping track of us and standing by to make sure all is well.  Best of both worlds we reckon. We’ll go with the wind and the tide to visit former favourite spots and hope to discover new ones too.  Every day will show us a fresh aspect of even familiar and well loved places, not forgetting ‘faces’ like that of Big Elvis the friendly Maori Wrasse. We can stay aboard snorkelling and fishing or go island hopping ashore and take in a resort. Calmly idle Destiny under motor or, when the breeze gets up, hoist the main, unfurl the ‘headie’ and let her show her paces under sail - terrific. This is what Cumberland Charters are all about and what keeps us coming back. Can’t choose any particular high spots from among so many; just all round pretty ‘blankety’ lovely. Always something new, but always the same magic.  And that really is Magic!
