More Most Incredible Lookouts, You Don't Want To Miss! 3:42pm, Thu 08 Dec 2016Another more demanding look out is Whitsunday Peak, 437M above sea level. The lookout here is just spectacular on a clear day you can see Lindeman and Brampton to the south and Hayman to the north. Accessible from Sawmill or Dugog Beach Cid Harbour the trek up can be challenging, especially in wet weather.
Be prepared to get dirty and have flora and fauna close by. The walk itself doesn't afford much in the way of views, once you reach the top the rocky outcrop provides a spectacular birds eve view of the boats below, Shute harbour and Gulnare inlet.
Allow 4 hours, take your time, don't rush as the rocks can be slippery (2 hours each way) allow more if you plan to see the sunrise and enjoy a champagne breakfast at the top. Its only 5km return but mostly the gradient is rough.
Take water, camera, bug spray and a picnic it's a long way down if you forget the camera.
