Tasman Ocean 35 - 'Serendipity'

A beautiful 3 cabin catamaran with 2 Queen beds and 1 double plus 2 large ensuites, ensures there is plenty of room for everyone on board.

The roomy saloon features a large dining table, huge opening forward hatches providing excellent ventilation, great for catching a pleasant sea breeze while sharing a meal and the memories of the day in the large wrap around leather settee.

The central galley in the saloon facing out towards the aft deck means the 'chef' is always part of the action. The interior is welcoming and comfortable with personal touches bringing a relaxed and homely feel to the catamaran.

The covered cockpit and BBQ area is a great spot for an afternoon beverage and just taking in the sublime surroundings of the beautiful Whitsundays.

Easy sailing, with a self tacking jib and fully battened main, she presents an impressive figure under full sail. The Twin Yanmar 35 hp diesel engines make for very economical operating when the wind disappears.

Relax with some music in the background and chill out on the aft deck as the sun sets on another day in the glorious Whitsundays.

Boat Layout

This was our second time on a charter holiday, the staff were incredibly helpful from the start of planning right through to the end of our trip. Loads of helpful information, vessel recommendations, and some gentle reminders made sure that we had all the resources we needed We hired a couple of kayaks which were easily stored without getting in the way (and which I'd highly recommend doing if you can split the cost between the group) I liked the location of the galley being up in dining/seating area - so meal preparation was still social - as was the clean up afterwards. The BBQ at the back of the boat also got a bit of a workout. Last time we hired, the galley was in one of the hulls and kind of out of the way so the difference was noticeable this time around. Serendipity has one bigger bathroom for the claustrophobic as well as a smaller ensuite version which my partner and I were fine with. Everything we needed to prepare meals and clean up was on board, fridge and freezer space was adequate with the on deck esky which we stocked up with iceblocks before leaving Airlie, to cycle the drinks through for a decent chill. We self catered and that was great with a stop at woollies and Whitsunday Master Butchers the day before (as we were able to sleep aboard the night before departure) but it did take a lot of time to plan in advance (due to some dietary restrictions of the crew). We did a small restock of some fresh foods at Hamilton Island but getting all your non-perishable snacks and staples from Airlie Beach before you leave will be kinder on your wallet. We got lucky with great patches of weather during our stay and our holiday couldn't have been better. And we'd definitely go with CCY if we were to hire again - and recommend them to anyone considering bareboating.
