26 years in the planning.
In 1984, 3 Perth adventures set off to Europe, met up with some wonderful Eastern Aussies and decided to cruise the Greek Islands together.  We loved it and vowed one day we would meet up and do it again.
2010 was the year, Whitsundays our destination.  Sues helpful & friendly emails decided us on Cumberland Charters.  Finally the day arrived and we were reunited on the fantastic Gallivanter,  43 feet (13.1 metres) of sailing pleasure with wonderful company, sensational food and incredible scenery of the Whitsunday Islands.
The boys revelled in their sailing youth, sailing us to new bays each day.  Snorkelling with enormous and friendly fish, paddling around deserted inlets, sunbaking of the softest whitest sand,  watching the dolphins.  But most fun of all was the sexy bodies adorned in those unforgettable stingers suits, our condomoneries.
To counteract the lazy days and good livings we put on the sandshoes and climbed the 5 km round trip to the top of Whitsunday Peak, enjoying the tropical rain forest and pine trees, while dodging the rocks Pete so craftily inserted into your backpack if you were not watching.
The weather was delightful, just enough sun for a fantastic tan, the torrential downpour was amazing, cleansing the deck and proving an unforgettable trip in the dingy for the boys to pick up supplies in the rain, dont lose those thongs boys.
The stopover in Hamilton, stretched the legs and gave us an opportunity to pick up some souvenirs, a visit to the pub, and dont forget the bakery.  Then time for the girls to get out the party frocks and spoil ourselves with an indulgent and delicious meal. Lucky we didnt stay long enough to let the boys loose on the carts.
Cocktails, cards, reading, relaxing with a book, late night chats with old friends surrounded by stunning blue oceans and tropical islands, it does not get any better than this.
