There was movement at Arlie Beach for the word had passed around
The mob of six from Dubbo were soon to depart solid ground.
Aboard Cumberlands Kicknback we were ready to hoist the sails
Off we set with our Skipper Grahame; we were clinging to the rails.
Our first day was a little rocky for we hit YES Twenty five knots!
But the mob from the bush didnt worry; we admit we did not know a lot!
Arriving safely at South Molle we farewelled our trusty skipper Grahame
But just quietly we were a little nervous our trip may turn to mayhem.
We woke at sunrise relieved to find we had not drifted out to sea
Then off to Nara Inlet was our next destination we all did agree.
The smooth water was pleasant after crossing the oceans waves
Then off we trekked up the cliff to explore some stunning caves.
Now it was here that fisherman Dad made our one and only catch
A crab he flung on board straight down mums cabin hatch!
By morn we were ready to explore the beautiful Butterfly bay,
The kids and mum splayed out on the deck, lapping up the sunny day.
Never had this family out west lived so close with one another
Captain dads occasional SHUTUP then peace restored by our mother!
Day 4 took the Samuels to the home of Fat Albert the great fish
Through the coral we swam to hug the maori wrasse was our wish.
When we thought the bright coral and fish were such a sight to see
The dugongs and turtles at Tongue Bay brought a huge WHOOPEE
The views of Whitehaven were just as the post cards resembled
Keen to touch this famous sand into the tender we quickly assembled.
The luxury of Hamilton Island was beckoning us to its lights
And with a berth secured we jumped ashore to sample its delights.
Refreshed we sailed confidently past the pioneer rocks
Into Abel Point as Kicknback was home nestled back in the docks.
After our final debrief the only question that did linger
Was Is whoever named Fluffy Muffy and Psycho Puss still getting the finger?
