Wow! What a wonderful holiday we had sailing around the Whitsunday Islands. I can honestly say that my family, three generations, aged from four to seventy years of age, came back to land with the joy of our wonderful experiences.
The coral within swimming distance of our yacht was of the type you see in picture books or nature films. Fish of all sizes and colours glided through the pinks and purples of amazing coral structures. Then there were the whales, literally frolicking in front of the yacht, their fins in the air as though they were waving to us and on another day dolphins playing in our wake.
In the evening we sat on the back of the boat, with the barbque cooking dinner and spotted the turtles rising in the clear water of Cids Harbour and it was there we went ashore and walked to Dugong Bay and although it was fleeting, we were pretty sure we saw the nostrils of a Dugong.
It didnt matter whichever inlet or harbour we dropped our anchor, as we ate dinner amongst the twinkling lights of the other boats, the talk was of wasnt that amazing, werent we fortunate to see, and what a great holiday this is.
This fabulous holiday was made possible, from beginning to end, by the efficient staff of Cumberland Charter Yachts. They booked and provided us with the yacht Olivetta in pristine condition and gave a proficient introduction to the boat and its working.
The friendly voice of Cumberland Charter Yachts came over the radio promptly at 8.30am each morning, giving the weather forecast and from the previous days report Cumberland Charter Yachts knew our whereabouts and our plans for the day were given to them.  This service and knowing they were a call away if we needed advice, allowed us the feeling of security and safety, which is so essential on a sailing holiday and for us added greatly to the pleasure.
My advice is, go sail the Whitsunday Islands with Cumberland Charter Yachts.
