The time had come again, the 5th time with Cumberland and the 10th in the Whitsundays. As for the boats, they just get bigger, Serengeti, this is a big boat, in ever respect. Cumberland and their crew, great to deal with again, Customer service with a smile.
Three couples on this trip plenty of room for all, Third day in one of our crew found out what sea sick is all about, lasted 24hrs and had to get off. Rested on Hamilton for a couple of days, no better. Had to fly home, all disappointed. The Captain doesnt get seasick, but tried to find out what is was like on the first night, need to make my own drinks in future, the drinkies went down to fast. Not so happy the next morning. Some of the guys had never snorkelled before, dropped over the side at Manta Ray bay and swam with the big Fishes. There were some pretty excited faces, even under the masks. Could not understand what was being said under water, I think it was Are they hungry. Down to Whitehaven on the outside, everyone excited about the beach. Time to get off the boat and go walking on that famous sand, white and squeaky. Spent the night at tongue bay, up to the lookout, what a view. Spent a couple of nights in Hamilton Island hoping for a recovery of our sick friend, Heading into Hamilton we felt like the king of the castle. Serengeti, 48ft did I mention shes big. Until you sail into Hamilton Marina, Yep, we found bigger, theres lots of money floating around in that Marina.
Ten days on this boat, had a few wet ones in the middle of the trip, Stonehaven to Hamilton, 38 knots of wind on the nose, short sharp chop, 1 to 4 knots, the sail drives purring away at 1700rpm, everyone inside, myself lonely at the helm, good thing about the rain, it washed all the salt water of the me and the Boat, there was plenty of spray coming over the front.
