Treasure

With the comptetent crew course under our belt and dire need for fresh air and sunshine, we headed to the team at Cumberland Charter Yachts to pick up the fabulous "Treasure" the Dehler 34' monohull.

Our flotilla included two other families who were on Kick N Back and Indigo (cats). The first funny moment, the look on Terry and Charlie's faces when they saw our provisioning. "How many people?" Rosey has the reputation for over catering,  true to form, we had enough food for two weeks, not that I'm complaining, we ate like kings.

With a great deal of excitment, fully briefed and now actually being on our 'own' boat, we headed off on a nice easy run across to Nara Inlet.  We were quickly at ease with Treasure.  A couple of goes to anchor, for no other reason than being a bit cautious about the 'how close' factor. Very settled night and the start of a fabulous week which offered a variety of wind conditions and experiences.

Our highlights of the week.
Morning tea aboard in Hook Island passage. The sailing to Border Island and back.
The frivolity of the swimming in Cid Harbour with the KNB & Indigo kids!
Whitehaven - walk on the beach and anchorage. The sand is just so perfectly soft and white.
Butterfly Bay for a quick lunch drop in and snorkel, pretty spot.
Blue Pearl Bay, awesome snorkelling and easy mooring.
The peace and tranquility of Nara Inlet (Top end) gorgeous views.
The sailing, sailing, sailing. Blue water, heavenly views, perfect surroundings
Turtles and dolphins, no whales, but other families did.
Testing our skills and offering up some challenges. Treasure was very accomodating and easy to sail and handle.
Radio calls.... Kick'N Back, Kick N Back... Indigo, Indigo...
Finally, the CCY team were fantastic. Happily assisting and sharing in our travel stories, in getting going and then heading home too! We are hooked and heading back sooner than later.
