It used to be the fashion, many years ago, to run away to sea. By all accounts it was quite easy. All you had to do was put all your belongings in a spotted handkerchief. Tie the handkerchief to the stick. Put the stick over your shoulder ... and off you went. 1

As it turns out, booking a charter through Cumberland Charter Yachts was even easier than that!

Our holiday to the Whitsundays pretty much began as soon as we booked. Their website provided us with all the information and tools we needed for planning our holiday. Hours were spent exploring all of the possible anchorages, working out who was going to sleep where, designing our menu, checking the current weather and wind speeds in the area and just dreaming about being warm and relaxed.

When it came to our actual holiday we were not disappointed. We had the best, best time. Next time we will go for longer.

What did we love most about our trip to the Whitsundays? We loved feeling warm again. We loved being together as a family in such a beautiful place.  We loved the simplicity of living on a boat, watching the weather and just slowing down. My husband loved it when we achieved 10 knots under sail. Our son had the best snorkeling experience he has ever had. Our daughter just loved playing with buckets of water on the back deck. I loved hanging out at Whitehaven beach and exploring the islands. And we all loved the fact that we did not have to deal with all the normal bug bears of our usual life. There was no hurrying the kids out the door, no car seats, no deadlines, shops, or TVs (we told the kids the one on the boat was a radar).

Our trip to the Whitsundays has left us all inspired and wanting more. Cumberland Charter Yachts and the service they provide was fantastic. I can not recommend them enough.

Thank you.
