On the good ship Skedaddle we had one of these life time experiences. What better way could you think of to combine a break away from the rat race  and a few of lifes little pleasures? For us although we are not novices when it comes to boats and sailing we are no means experts after an hours introduction and trail of everything we needed to know with the wonderful Graham we were off on our 7 day adventure. How lucky could you be?
As we set sail for Whitehaven beach one of the most famous and beautiful beaches in the world we come across a whale and her calf, we sat 100 metres off from them and watched them frolick in the water.
That night whilst at anchor we were able to sample our prearranged rations we were not let down a - feast of beautiful fresh seafood and tropical fruit was devoured and washed down with a nice wine. Not long after tea we had the fishing rods set up and lines in the water we were kept busy with plenty of action with the important task of replenishing the wine took priority as Stuart placed his fishing rod down to go in and get the bottle the rod just took off and went straight into the water.
About 1/2 hour later Sue had hooked something! as she wound it in it appeared she had snagged and tangled another line to our surprise and amazment she had caught the line of the rod that had been pulled overboard.  As she kept winding it in we found the rod still attached and were able to recover it along with the shark that had pulled it into the water. This time there wasn't going to be a story about the one that got away. We enjoyed walks along beautiful beaches bush walks to amazing aboriginal cave paintings and stunning look outs. We paddled up far reaches of estauries, snorkelling on amazing underwater mini-cities of color and life of all kinds all the while enjoying the opportunity to improve our photography skills. We couldn't have asked for a better holiday.
