Our fabulous holiday started unexpectedly after a visit to the 2010 Boating and Great Outdoor expo at the new Melbourne exhibition centre. We arrived at Hamilton Island as our floating accomodation was being sailed into the harbour for our introduction session with Graham. After a pleasant sail and trial at hoisting sales, dropping anchor and getting familiar with our vessel we were left to enjoy 7 days of freedom. Our first night was spent in the Hamilton Island Mariner before heading out early the next morning passing the amazing new yatch club.

From then on we just had to keep pinching ourselves as we experienced an amazing part of this wonderful country. The wild life was just incredible as we came across a Whale and her calf, cheeky sulpher crested cokatoos going from boat to boat at anchor seeing what tasty morsils were on offer. Inquisitive angel shaped fish as round as a small bicycle wheel coming up to the back of your boat making sounds to get your attention so you would feed them. And the shy turtles popping up for a brief look to see what you were up to before dissappearing again only to pop up on the other side of the boat. An escort of 3 dolphins riding the bow effortlessly skimming along. The fishing was great and supplied a number of fresh meals while the snorkelling was just amazing, the under water colour and activity was endless. A day was spent on the luxurious Hayman Island enjoying all the benefits around the pool.

All too soon our 7 days were over and it was time to head back into the Hamilton Island mariner to once again be met by Graham for a debrief and handover. Although we were sad that our holiday was coming to an end we were laden with plenty of life long memories and photos to share. We couldn't reccommend the team at Cumberland enough they were just fantastic and thought of every little detail and were always happy to make suggestions and reccommendation on were to go. They just added that little extra.
