Were with Cumberland Yacht Charters for our holiday adventure,
Shown around the boat and given our lecture,
To check that were safe and know how the boat works,
And to make sure were not irresponsible jerks!
After some helpful tips and support were sent on our way,
And so begins our first exhilarating day,

We send up the sails and cut through the water,
Whilst my wife tries to remember what the Cumberland crew taught her,
Through clear blue waters and with a refreshing strong breeze,
Its across Whitsunday Passage to unexplored seas,

Sailing away to our own private beach,
As the sun starts to set its too far for others to reach,
Into the bay with dugong, dolphin, and turtles,
Drop the mainsail and keep clear as it hurtles
With anchor dropped and cool glass in ones hand,
We relax and admire the deserted golden sand,

In the bay and the beach you are now all alone,
With bushwalks to high lookouts to enjoy on your own,
The shadows of palm trees across the sand play,
But thats all waiting to be explored on another great day

With light swell that evening and being rocked off to sleep,
From hatches the next morning the children excitedly peep,
While mummy makes coffee we put on our swimmers,
The deep azure water enticingly shimmers,

We put on our suits and check each others zippers
Into the water we slip with our flippers,
Snorkelling through the colourful valleys,
Of coral, anaenomies, reef fish and trevally,
Then back to the boat to prepare for today,
The sun warming up as we prepare to get underway,

Another day awaits and many more surprises,
Sunshine, sea, and good sailing as a cool southerly rises,
And at the end of the week once were all through and back in the harbour,
Greeted with friendly smile from Cumberland Yacht Charters,
We look back with fond memories of the wonderful fun,
And begin planning our next sailing holiday in the sun.
