Wow - what an adventure we had in November cruising the Whitsundays. We - 6 adults and a 2 year old - set sails on a sunny afternoon with high expectations (and special sea sickness bracelets).

The week turned out to be completely different than what we had expected. Day 2 we woke up to the sound of rain on the cabin windows. "Well, it's probably just a shower", we all agreed, and prepared to grab our swimmers as soon as the rain stopped.

Unfortunately, the "shower" lasted almost all week! You would think that we would all be devestated by the wet feet, the grey outlook and the damp cabins, but we actuallly had an amazing holiday! We quicly came up with all sorts of alternative activities on board, such as quiz games, draving and playing (adult style) with the 2 year old's playdough! When the sun finally emerged on day 4 for a few hours, we were so excited and happy - there was no doubt that it was all worth it. We quicly jumped into the dinghy and sailed to the nearest beach where we were lucky enough to meet some of the locals - 3 wallabies!

We would definitely go again any time and we encourage everyone to be bold and not let the weather affect you if you end up in a similar situation. The Whitsundays are amazing no matter what. Also, having a toddler on board turned out to be great! She really loved life on the ship and  kept a smile on everyone's faces during the long rainy days.

The service from Cumberland was everything we could have hoped for. We were particularly happy about the detailed weather reports over the radio and the thorough instructions on the first day.
