Our 3rd trip with Cumberland and what a delight,
The boys at the helm and the girls hanging on tight.
We enjoyed our induction with the sun out all day,
But little did we know, it was not to stay.

The heavens opened and down came the rain,
Thank God, lazyitis lived up to her name.
She handled the white out, the wind, and the storms,
Whilst keeping us safe, content and warm.

We sailed to Whitehaven all stormy and wet,
thru Solway passage our course was set.
the incoming tide and currents were tough
but we made it safely, albeit a bit rough.

We explored the island - on foot, getting wet,
And saw sights wed never forget.
Raging streams, waterfalls, the fungi alive,
Leaving memories of the Whitsundays thatll always survive

Our night at Whitehaven was a rocking affair,
But securely anchored we had not a care.
The anchorage was deserted - ours to enjoy,
With no other persons the peace to destroy.

Northwards we pressed thru drifting showers,
Squalls and rain filled the morning hours
We aimed for Nara to enjoy some respite
When the sun re-appeared with the anchorage in site

Our penultimate day we awoke to find,
A change in weather with the sun being kind.
To Butterfly Bay, we sampled the beauty,
Snorkling, sun-baking, the evening tranquillity.

Our final day dawned, and as often in life,
A thing of great beauty with no memory of strife,
At Blue Pearl Bay, we enjoyed the relaxed pace,
Before heading back to rejoin the rat race.

So thank you Cumberland for our unique adventure,
And yes well be back in future to venture.
Thru the Whitsundays playground of fun
With friends or family to enjoy the sun.(hopefully).
