How to have a perfect holiday? Two families &resort vehicle, Gallivanter a recipe for an amazing time.
From the moment we booked the boat with CCY the excitement of the holiday started building. We embarked on preparing our Charter through the Web page & knew exactly every step of the way what was needed for the trip. Finally, the day arrived & we were able to step on to Gallivanter as her crew with our briefing done & only our sailing lesson to do.
We wore the provided raincoats, loaded provisions and with master sailor David were instructed about sails, the controls & safety features of the boat.  We farewelled  David & made our way to Nara Inlet.
We prepared ourselves to deal with the rain as it was looking to stay with us for the week. But we woke to a perfectly sunny skies & the sounds of a water fall cascading off rocks just on shore. A new feature of the island we hadnt seen before. The weather was superb; we had brilliant blue skies & crystal, clear calm waters! Every anchorage became our haven. The Whitsundays is a place of sheer majesty.
At Manta Ray Bay we saw Grommet the Maori Wrasse. The kids had a great time snorkeling, feeding the scores of small fish, & patting Grommet, more of a big puppy than a fish. We got to meet Grommets mate Trevor Trevalley who was equally happy with all the  attention!
We spent the night at Macona & the intrepid fisher girl caught a Trevalley hopefully a much distant relative of Trevs. At Cid Harbour - we were lucky enough to catch sight of a dugong & the next morning we were escorted out of our anchorage by two playful dolphins.
The day at Hamilton we spent a relaxing, sipping cocktails & watching the kids play in the pool. It was then to Whitehaven Beach. The water was unbelievably blue & inviting & we had some of our best snorkeling among the bommies.
Very big thank you to CCY who made sure our boat was well equipped & the holiday booking & administration went smoothly. Our 5th trip is a definite!
