Wow is a word that was used so often on the voyage of a lifetime.
We made it to Hamilton Island and our first night started well.
In the morning we relaxed to leave by 11am with the ladies taking a walk coming back overwhelmed by the thousands of butterfly in the trees.
As we left we waved to the crew on Maxi Race Yacht Wild Oats before heading south only to give way to a humpback whale showing off. Light afternoon sail.
Day 2 We anchor off Lindeman Island “turtles and dolphins”. 3 walked up to the top of the island where WOW was again used. 360deg prefect views. The boat moved to the other side of the island and the adventurers rendezvoused with them.
South Whitehaven for the night. Great afternoon on the beach. Champagne at the end of day.
Day 3 dropping anchor in Tongue bay trying not to hit a turtle was a challenge. We walked to the lookout over Hill Inlet and Whitehaven beach. Awesome very and it has to one of god’s special places. Words do not give Whitehaven justice.
Day 4 Great sail north with about 20kts. Snorkeling with the fish made the girls scream with 100’s and 100’s swimming around right up to their masks (Luncheon and Manta Ray Bay) then in came the big fish. A giant wrasse blue in colour with lips like Mike Jagger about 40kg and 1m long.
Day 5 Cid Harbor. We climbed the highest peak in the Whitsundays to enjoy a perfect view without a cloud in the sky. “WOW” again.
More sailing and whales then we anchored of South Molle Island. Nachos on the roof with sunset.
Day 6 We were greeted by the colorful birds called Rosellas they were so tame that you could hand feed them while they where in your hair. We sailed to Blue Pearl bay (Hayman Island) for more snorkeling with magnificent coral and fish life and a final sunset.
We have sailed on some of the most beautiful places in the world. Whitsunday is up there with the best.. With natural offerings it can not be beaten. Less than 7 days would be an injustice.
