Testimonial

Our 2010 Whitsunday charter with CCY was such a fun holiday that we are already planning our 2011 escape! A good escape always need’s a little planning and that’s a cinch with the CCY website as it’s top shelf. Their site is a treasure trove of info and the interactive charterers centre is a great feature. The CCY boats are modern and well maintained and the range covers the full spectrum of craft imaginable. Our choice this year was the power cat Finnigan a roomy well-equipped boat with a huge flybridge that made you feel like “ king of all that you surveyed”. Our first stop was at Border island for a snorkel and the variety of fish life was amazing. At Maureen’s Cove we hand fed a couple of giant batfish and we named them Bill and Betty. A short hop across to Blue Pearl Bay and we were swimming among bombies that were brimming with Coral Trout, Parrot and other colourful species. We found ourselves viewing the undersea and then looking up and spotting wedge tail eagles soaring over the Hayman Island hillside. Halfway into our trip the trade winds began to freshen so we headed to Whitehaven Beach and nearby Hill Inlet for some Kitesurfing action! We blissfully settled into a routine of a 10.00am cook up of bacon and eggs and, (an optional) hike up the walking track to the Whitehaven Beach viewing platforms to take in some of the cleanest air in the world and one of the most panoramic views bar none. We imagine that our brightly coloured kites whizzing around must have been a curious sight for the people at the viewing platforms. A short cruise at the end of each day saw us anchoring in the tranquil waters of Tongue Bay with plenty of time to relax with a drink, recall the highlights of the day and watch the sun silhouette behind the distant pine trees of Whitsunday Island. With our bodies and minds in recharge mode we would sleep contently knowing that tomorrow we would do it all again! Our 2010 CCY charter was one of the best holidays ever. See you in 2011!
