Testimonial

After researching bareboat charter companies we chose Cumberland Charter Yachts due to feedback on Tripadvisor. We found the booking process simple, and were impressed with the information and options given prior to our arrival. Our minds were at rest after meeting Sharon at the Melbourne Boat Show, she was lovely and checked details of our trip and where we were up to planning wise Our first morning Terry our sail guide gave us a comprehensive run through of all equipment, what we needed to do in certain situations In fact the charter boat briefing was so thorough my husband and I found ourselves later giving each other knowing glances when we heard charterers from other companies (who obviously hadn't had the thorough briefing we had) asking questions about water pumps constantly running and anchor chains not coming up easily - thanks Terry, you made us 'experts'!! The reminder of our visit consisted of lazy days in beautiful sunshine, fishing, reading, sipping on drinks, popping in to Whitehaven Beach for breakfast, bush walking, kayaking, exploring. We were fortunate enough to see three whales in one day,We also had a Maori Wrasse hang around for hours in Tongue Bay. When we returned we were told that the wrasse are able to identify certain boats, so whoever fed the wrasse here from Finnigan in the past - thank you! It made that night unforgettable.Fishing was a bit hit and miss. We didn't catch any fish trolling but did catch ten different fish, and a pair of mens undies!! Our last day was a day of high wind warnings and 2-3 metre swells, and we had to cross Whitsunday Passage in these conditions. Finnigan handled it with ease. So, would we do it again? In a heartbeat!!The only decision would be who to go with and which boat to charter, we'd definitely take Finnigan out again if it suited the number of people in our group at the time. In all the trip was excellent. We'll be back!
