The Master Reef Guide Program is a relatively new program initiated by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA). This will be an ongoing program with updated information released fortnightly via ‘Eye on the Reef’ a reef monitoring and assessment program that enables anyone who visits the Great Barrier Reef to contribute to its long-term protection by collecting valuable information about reef health, marine animals and incidents.
Information included are details on the state of the reef, water quality, bleaching, damage, and information on the Crown of Thorns, a starfish that is damaging to the reef.
If you are on a bareboat charter you will have access to the fringing reefs of the Whitsundays, there is so much to see, beautiful coral, amazing marine life, pristine beaches and so much more.
Cumberland Charter Yachts is a multi-award-winning company operating for over 30 years from Abell Point Marina in the Whitsundays, offering bareboat holidays on sailing yachts, sailing catamarans and power catamarans across a fleet of 28 vessels.
