The Master Reef Guide Program is a relatively new program initiated by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA). This will be an ongoing program with updated information released fortnightly via ‘Eye on the Reef’ a reef monitoring and assessment program that enables anyone who visits the Great Barrier Reef to contribute to its long-term protection by collecting valuable information about reef health, marine animals and incidents.
Information included are details on the state of the reef, water quality, bleaching, damage, and information on the Crown of Thorns, a starfish that is damaging to the reef.
