Tasman Ocean 35 - 'Serendipity'
A beautiful 3 cabin catamaran with 2 Queen beds and 1 double plus 2 large ensuites, ensures there is plenty of room for everyone on board. The roomy saloon features a large dining table, huge opening forward hatches providing excellent ventilation, great for catching a pleasant sea breeze while sharing a meal and the memories of the day in the large wrap around leather settee.
The central galley in the saloon facing out towards the aft deck means the 'chef' is always part of the action. The interior is welcoming and comfortable with personal touches bringing a relaxed and homely feel to the catamaran.
The covered cockpit and BBQ area is a great spot for an afternoon beverage and just taking in the sublime surroundings of the beautiful Whitsundays.
Easy sailing, with a self tacking jib and fully battened main, she presents an impressive figure under full sail. The Twin Yanmar 35 hp diesel engines make for very economical operating when the wind disappears.
Relax with some music in the background and chill out on the aft deck as the sun sets on another day in the glorious Whitsundays.
Chartering in the Whitsundays, you often hear charterers calling their company for technical assistance - although not often from Cumberland vessels. Usually it's a case of "Stand by on this channel and we'll call you back". On this, our fifth charter with Cumberland Charter Yachts, and the second on "Skedaddle', we overheard two 'assist' calls to Cumberland base. The first was for a crew member with a deep cut. The base operator immediately came back with calm, textbook perfect, first aid advice and options to visit a doctor. The second was for an apparent problem with a fresh water pump. Again, without taking a break, the operator came back with advice that showed an intimate knowledge of that particular boat, as if he had built it himself. We couldn't help but be impressed!
Well done Cumberland Crew, its the attention to detail that keeps us coming back.Col - SWANSEA, TAS
